Pedestrian Killed in Merced County Crash at Frontage Road and Cressey Way
MERCED COUNTY, CA (May 12, 2021) – A pedestrian died after an accident at Frontage Road and Cressey Way in Merced County.
According to an article published by the ABC 30 News, the tragic incident occurred on Wednesday morning. Officers reported the crash shortly before 5 a.m.
The California Highway Patrol said a car struck the person for an unknown reason. The driver hit the pedestrian at Frontage Road and Cressey Way in Merced County.
Victim Hit by Car Near Highway 99
Firefighters along with the paramedics then responded to the scene near Highway 99, north of Atwater. They found the victim lying on the ground as a result of the collision.
Medical personnel soon pronounced the person dead. The name of the deceased party has not been yet released pending notification of next of kin.
Meanwhile, CHP affirmed that the motorist stayed at the crash site and cooperated with the officials. Officers forced the roadway to shut down for about two hours following the accident.
The cause of the fatal Merced County pedestrian collision is still under investigation.
