Man Seriously Injured in Merced County Hit-and-Run Near Highway 140 and Schilling
MERCED COUNTY, CA (March 30, 2021) – A hit-and-run crash seriously injured a pedestrian near Highway 140 and Schilling Road in Merced County.
According to an article published by the Merced GW News, the accident occurred on Tuesday night. Officers reported the incident at about 8:51 p.m.
The California Highway Patrol said a vehicle struck a male pedestrian for an unknown reason. The driver hit him near the intersection of Highway 140 and Schilling Road in Merced County.
Truck Driver Hits Pedestrian, Flees Towards Mariposa
Firefighters along with the paramedics soon responded to the scene. They found the man left suffering from major injuries as a result of the collision.
Medical personnel then rushed the patient to the hospital for treatment. Officials did not disclose the name of the wounded victim and their condition at this time.
Meanwhile, CHP affirmed that the motorist did not stop to render aid and fled the area. Witnesses claimed that a white truck was last seen going east on Highway 140 towards Mariposa.
Authorities are still searching for the hit-and-run motorist and the truck with its passenger side mirror missing. Anyone with information can call the CHP Merced at 209-356-6600.
