2 Injured in Car Accident at Olive Avenue and McKee Road
DATE OF COLLISION: Monday, November 5th
November 6, 2018 – Injuries were reported following a suspected DUI collision at the intersection of Olive Avenue and McKee Road, according to Merced Sun-Star.
The accident happened on Monday at 5:15 p.m.
Rear-End Crash in Merced Monday
As per the article, an allegedly intoxicated woman was driving a truck traveling behind a Honda in the area. When the Honda driver reached the crossing, it reportedly stopped at a stop sign.
The truck ended up slamming into the rear of the Honda, officials said. Responding paramedics rendered aid to the woman driving the Honda, who complained of pain to her neck.
Following the initial crash, investigators believed the truck fled the scene and made it in the area of Silverado Avenue and McKee Road, where it struck a tree. Local police later located the suspect, who was also hurt as a result of the crash. At this time, it is still unclear how the authorities determined the intoxication level of the truck driver.
Further investigation on the case is underway.
