Woman, 29, Badly Injured in Merced Crash Near G Street and 23rd Street
MERCED, CA (May 12, 2023) – One was badly injured after a DUI crash near G Street and 23rd Street in Merced.
According to an article published by The Merced Sun Star, the accident occurred on Wednesday night. Officers reported the wreck on May 10 shortly after 9 p.m.
Merced police said a 2009 Nissan Altima was driving well over the posted speed limit when it slammed into a 2023 Jeep. The impact then pushed the Jeep into a 2018 Subaru.
The Jeep rolled over as a result of the collision. The Nissan obtained major front-end damage while the Subaru came to a rest with rear-end damage.
Multiple Cars Collide
Firefighters along with the paramedics soon arrived at the scene and found the 29-year-old Merced woman driving the Jeep hurt. She sustained moderate injuries following the incident.
Medical personnel rushed the patient to a hospital for treatment. The report did not release the name of the wounded victim and her condition at this time.
Meanwhile, police determined that the male driver of the Altima was under the influence of alcohol. They arrested him for multiple charges, including felony DUI.
Officers forced the area of G Street and 23rd Street to shut down after the wreck. The cause of the Merced crash is still under investigation.
