Man, 43, Killed in Fiery Car Crash on Highway 99
DATE OF COLLISION: Sunday, December 30th
December 30, 2018 – One person was killed in a car accident on Highway 99 Sunday morning, according to Merced Sun-Star.
Primary reports indicated a 43-year-old man, from Atwater, was driving a 2015 Ford Fiesta exiting southbound Highway 99 at West 16 Street around. For reasons still under investigation, the man veered off the roadway and collided with the pillar.
First responder reportedly found the Ford engulfed in flames.
As per the article, several passing motorists stopped to help and pulled the man from the burning vehicle. Paramedics apparently tried CPR but the man was pronounced dead at the scene. Pending notification of next of kin, the identity of the deceased remained undisclosed.
Meanwhile, investigators continue to work to determine precisely what cased the deadly crash. It is still unclear if there were other vehicles involved in the accident.
