1 Killed in Collision at Ashby and Cooper
Merced, CA (June 22, 2022) – At least one person died following a car accident that occurred in the area of Ashby Road and Cooper Avenue, the Merced Sun-Star News reported.
Our sources indicated two vehicles collided at the intersection on the west side of Merced. The horrible crash took place Wednesday afternoon. According to the article published online, the incident involved a 2019 Volkswagen. The make and model of the other car involved in the wreck have not been revealed thus far.
Shortly after 12:35 p.m., rescue teams arrived at the location. Responding paramedics reportedly found the front passenger in the Volkswagen unconscious. Despite life-saving measures performed by paramedics, the passenger sadly succumbed to her injuries and died. Officials only identified the fatal victim as a 75-year-old woman.
2 Drivers Hospitalized After Car Crash in Merced
Authorities added the drivers of the both cars sustained minor injuries as a result of the collision. Medical personnel transported the two patients to Mercy Medical Center for further treatment.
At this time, detectives continue to investigate the precise cause of the car accident at Ashby Road and Cooper Avenue in Merced.
