Woman, 25, Killed in Merced Pedestrian Accident at Ashby Road and Fern Street
MERCED, Calif. (Jan. 16, 2020) — A 25-year-old woman died in a pedestrian accident early Thursday morning in Merced.
A driver struck the young woman at Ashby Road and Fern Street about 4:30 a.m. on Jan. 16th, according to a report by the California Highway Patrol.
The driver told police he was traveling at about 35 miles per hour when he struck the woman who was standing in the roadway.
Paramedics responded to the scene where the woman was pronounced dead.
Investigators are piecing together evidence to determine liability.
