Truck, Car on Fire in Fatal State Route 152 Crash
DOS PALOS, MERCED COUNTY, California (July 18, 2017) – At least one person has died in a collision between a car and a semi-tractor trailer truck on state Route 152 at Palm Avenue, a California Highway Patrol report said.
The fatal crash took place about 4:16 a.m. this morning. Police believe the car was traveling at high speed when it collided with the truck and both vehicles caught on fire. A caller to 911 told authorities they got the truck driver out of his cab, but there were no further details about the other driver or information about whether any passengers were aboard either vehicle.
The crash appears to have taken place in the No. 2 lane and Caltrans was called for a closure on state Route 152.
Legal Help for Motorists
When you are injured or have lost a loved one in a traffic accident, it’s important that you take immediate steps to protect your legal rights. Although a police report may indicate a driver is at fault for a crash, the cause of the injuries or death could be due to faulty air bags or mechanical problems.
An attorney will help you identify all parties liable for your losses. The attorney will also determine if a government claim or a manufacturer defect such as a faulty airbag contributed to your injuries and will share responsibility. This is important if there are low insurance limits that may not cover your medical bills. Contact a quality attorney at Johnson Attorneys Group for a free consultation: 800-235-6801.
