Man Hit and Injured by Vehicle on Vassar Avenue Thursday
Merced, CA (January 10, 2022) – A pedestrian suffered injuries following a suspected hit-and-run collision that occurred on Vassar Avenue on January 6.
According to the California Highway Patrol dispatch, a vehicle drifted off the traffic lanes for an unknown reason. The car ended up hitting a pedestrian standing or walking along the side of the Merced road.
The crash happened in the 860 block of Vassar Avenue.
Shortly after 11:30 p.m., rescue teams arrived at the location. Responding paramedics immediately rendered aid to the pedestrian found with injuries. Pending confirmation, the name and age of the victim remained undisclosed.
Meanwhile, officials mentioned the driver involved in the accident apparently fled the scene. Detectives continue to gather information to determine the identity and location of the hit-and-run suspect.
Further investigation is underway on the pedestrian accident on Vassar Avenue in Merced.
