Pedestrian Injured in Merced Crash at West 11th Street and S Street
MERCED, CA (August 29, 2021) – A pedestrian was hospitalized after a crash at 11th Street and S Street in Merced.
According to an article published by the Merced GW News, the accident took place late Sunday night. Officers reported the incident at about 11:14 p.m.
Merced police said a vehicle struck the pedestrian for an unknown reason. The driver hit the person at the intersection of West 11th Street and S Street.
Victim Hit by Vehicle
Firefighters along with the paramedics soon arrived at the scene near Highway 99. They found the victim lying on the road as a result of the collision.
An air ambulance then took the patient to a Modesto hospital for treatment of unspecified injuries. Officials did not disclose the name of the wounded party and their condition at this time.
Meanwhile, police did not mention if the motorist stopped and stayed at the site after hitting the victim. Officers forced the area of 11th Street and S Street to shut down for a time following the collision.
The cause of the Merced pedestrian crash is still under investigation.
