Man, 28, Seriously Injured in Merced Hit-and-Run Crash on G Street
MERCED, CA (November 24, 2021) – A pedestrian was seriously injured after a hit-and-run crash on G Street in Merced.
According to The Merced Sun Star and Your Central Valley, the accident took place early Saturday. Officers reported the collision at about 2:25 a.m.
The incident happened on November 20 when a male pedestrian was crossing in the 3400 block of G Street in Merced. Police said for an unknown reason, a black Infiniti sedan struck him.
Firefighters along with the paramedics arrived at the scene and found the 26-year-old man left wounded on the ground. He sustained major injuries as a result of the collision.
Driver Hits Pedestrian, Flees Scene
Medical personnel then rushed the victim to a Modesto area hospital for treatment of two broken legs. They listed him in serious but stable condition.
The reports did not disclose the name of the patient. Meanwhile, the driver of the Infiniti did not stop to render aid to the man and fled the area.
They soon located and arrested the suspect for hit-and-run. Officers forced a stretch of G Street to shut down following the incident.
