Merced Pedestrian Hit-and-Run Crash on South Bear Creek Drive

Man Injured in Merced Hit-and-Run Crash on East South Bear Creek Drive

MERCED, CA (August 12, 2021) – A pedestrian was hospitalized after a hit-and-run crash on East South Bear Creek Drive in Merced.

According to an article published by The Merced Sun Star, the accident took place on Wednesday evening. Officers reported the collision at about 9:15 p.m.

Merced police said the incident happened on August 11 when a vehicle struck a male pedestrian for an unknown reason. The driver hit him in the 600 block of East South Bear Creek Drive.

Pedestrian Hit by Vehicle

Firefighters along with the paramedics arrived at the scene. They found the man left suffering from head injuries as a result of the collision.

Medical personnel soon rushed the victim to the Mercy Medical Center Merced for treatment. Officials did not disclose his name and condition at this time.

Meanwhile, police affirmed that the motorist did not stop to render aid to the man and then fled westbound on East South Bear Creek Drive.

Officers described the car involved as a older gray colored sedan. The Merced hit-and-run crash is still under investigation.
