Deadly Crash on Highway 33 in Firebaugh
FRESNO COUNTY, Calif. (October 28, 2022) – Michael Arvizu, 22, of Kerman, and Andrea Gabriel, 24, of Firebaugh, both died in a crash with a truck on Highway 33 and Shaw Avenue in Fresno County.
The traffic accident happened late Friday night about 11:05 p.m. on Oct. 21st, according to the California Highway Patrol
Andrea Gabriel was reportedly driving a red Ford Mustang with Michael Arvizu as her passenger. For unknown reasons, the Mustang veered into the path of a truck in the Firebaugh area of Fresno County. The car crashed head-on into the truck towing a two-axle flatbed trailer loaded with fertilizer at the intersection with Shaw Avenue.
One Injured in Crash on Highway 33
The truck driver, identified as Jimmy Saravia, 19, of Mendota, suffered minor injuries and had complaints of pain after the collision.
Meanwhile, firefighters located the two people in the Ford with major injuries. Both later died following the crash.
Meanwhile, CHP forced Highway 43 to shut down near Shaw Avenue for several hours following the wreck.
The cause of the fatal Fresno County crash is still under investigation.
