
Rider Dies After Collision With USPS Vehicle at Marina Drive and Alisa Lane
Santa Barbara, CA (May 3, 2023) – Michael Joseph Figone, a 45-year-old man, suffered fatal injuries following a traffic accident that occurred in the area of Marina Drive and Alisa Lane.
On May 2, Tuesday, a motorcyclist collided with a U.S. Postal Service vehicle. The KSBY4 News reported Figone was riding a motorbike traveling in the streets of Hope Ranch. When the motorcyclist entered the intersection of Marina and Alisa, a mail service vehicle drove through the crossing at the same time. Officials said the motorbike hit the right side of the USPS truck.
Fatal Motorcycle Accident in Santa Barbara
The force from the impact ejected Figone from his motorcycle and landed on the roadway. Shortly after 4:45 p.m., emergency crews arrived at the scene and found the rider unconscious. Paramedics performed life-saving efforts to the victim but he sadly succumbed to his injuries and died at the scene. The Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Office later identified the fatal victim as Michael Joseph Figone, of Santa Barbara.
Meanwhile, no immediate information was available on the driver of the male truck involved in the unfortunate event.
Investigators continue to work to determine the precise cause of the deadly crash that happened at Marina Drive and Alisa Lane in Santa Barbara.
