Waste Management Employee Killed in a Hit-and-run Crash on McCourtney Road
GRASS VALLEY, Calif. (August 3, 2020) — Michael Jodoin, 59, of Rough and Ready, died in a hit-and-run pedestrian accident Monday morning on McCourtney Road near the Nevada County Fairgrounds.
The crash was reported at 8:43 a.m. near Genes Road, according to the California Highway Patrol. The victim was working at the fairgrounds near Gate 4 when he was struck by a suspected DUI driver in a Dodge Charger.
Paramedics responded to the scene to help Jodoin and transported him to Sierra Nevada Memorial Hospital where he later died. Meanwhile, the CHP reported a call from Fishers Towing alerting them to a call for service on Mallory Court for a vehicle that matched the suspect’s vehicle.
The 2020 Dodge Charger was taken for evidence and its driver Amy Nicole Hannan, 47, was questioned by police and arrested for on charges of felony DUI causing great bodily injury, felony hit-and-run causing death or injury, and gross vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated. police said. She is being held on $100,000 bail at the Wayne Brown Correctional Facility. The tragic incident remains under investigation.
