Michael Kiss ID’d as Suspect in Arroyo Grande DUI Hit-and-Run Crash

ARROYO GRANDE, CA (October 19, 2021) – Authorities detained Michael Kiss after a DUI hit-and-run crash on Halcyon Road in Arroyo Grande.

Police determined that the Santa Maria man was under the influence of drugs when the collision took place on Tuesday morning.

The incident happened when Michael Kiss struck a female pedestrian on Halcyon Road in Arroyo Grande. He hit her in the crosswalk.

Police said the woman was leading two children across the road prior to the accident. Firefighters along with the paramedics arrived at the scene near the Harloe Elementary School.

Pedestrian Hit and Injured by Car

Medical personnel found the victim who ended up suffering from non-life-threatening injuries as a result of the collision. They rushed her to the hospital for treatment.

The report did not disclose the name of the wounded patient and her condition at this time. The KSBY News wrote that the accident occurred shortly after 8 a.m.

Meanwhile, police affirmed that the driver tried to flee the area but officers located him. They soon arrested and charged Michael Kiss with felony DUI with injury and a felony hit-and-run with injury.

The Arroyo Grande DUI hit-and-run crash is still under investigation.
