Motorcyclist Michael Larocque, 40, Killed in Costa Mesa Crash
COSTA MESA (July 15, 2018) – A motorcyclist was killed after a traffic collision on the 55 Freeway on Saturday night, according to The Orange County Register.
Orange County Coroner’s Office identified the victim as 40-year-old Michael Larocque, of Costa Mesa.
As per the article, California Highway Patrol said Larocque was riding a motorcycle when for an unknown reason he collided with a white Ford Mustang on the northbound 55 Freeway.
Motorcycle Crash on 55 Freeway Near 73 Freeway
The accident took place at approximately 9:30 p.m., just north of the 73 Freeway.
CHP affirmed that Larocque was found lying in the middle of the freeway following the crash. The rider was then transported Orange County Global Medical Center in Santa Ana where he later succumbed to his injuries.
Meanwhile, the report did not mention whether or not the driver of the Mustang was hurt and whether or not the motorist stopped and cooperated with the authorities. The cause of the incident remains under investigation.
