Bakersfield Man, 34, Identified as Crash Victim
KERN COUNTY, Calif. (August 7, 2024) — Michael Dominick Long, 34, of Bakersfield, died in a hit-and-run pedestrian accident back on July 12th at Universe Avenue and North Chester Avenue in Oildale.
The traffic accident occurred at 9:35 p.m. on July 12th near Kern County Fire Station 63, according to the California Highway Patrol dispatch.
CHP officials reported a driver struck the pedestrian and then fled the scene without stopping to help the person.
Paramedics responded, but the Bakersfield man died at the scene. He was later identified as Michael Long.
Investigators are working to determine fault for the pedestrian accident in Oildale.
