Bicyclist, 49, Killed in Oxnard Crash on Statham Boulevard
OXNARD (April 26, 2020) – Michael Nunziato, 49, of Oxnard, has been identified as the bicyclist killed Sunday morning in a collision on Statham Boulevard in Oxnard.
The accident took place at around 4:30 a.m. in the 2400 block of Statham Boulevard. The coroner reported that Nunziato recently moved here from Illinois.
The victim was reportedly riding a bicycle when he was struck by a 2017 Honda Civic traveling north on Statham. Despite efforts from arriving paramedics, Mr. Nunziato died at the scene.
The area where the crash occurred is in an industrial area between Oxnard and Channel Islands boulevards.
Meanwhile, the 43-year-old Oxnard man driving the car did not suffer any injury upon impact.
The cause of the traffic accident remains under investigation.
