2 Dead, 3 Injured- Driver Will be Arrested for DUI
SANTA BARBARA (June 28, 2017)- According to ABC 7 News, a deadly DUI crash caused the death of two and injuries to three others Monday evening on Gibraltar Road in the hills of Santa Barbara.
The driver of a 2005 Volkswagen identified as Brandon Woodward, 19, lost control of the vehicle he was driving with four other occupants inside causing it to go off the road and down 300 feet into an embankment.
Two passengers identified as Lily Afton Brennan, 17, and Lesli Michael Sandoval Nunez, 19, tragically were pronounced dead at the scene.
Two other passengers only being identified as a 16-year-old girl and a young teen boy was also hurt. The girl was badly injured while the teen suffered minor injuries.
Woodward was seriously injured as well and determined to have been under the influence while driving likely contributing to him losing control and causing the collision.
He will be arrested and will face charges pending his release from the hospital.
Based on this news report, it appears that the driver will be held liable for driving under the influence and responsible for the deaths of the two teens and the other victims involved.
