Man Riding Bicycle Killed in Eureka Crash with Semi-Truck
EUREKA, Calif. (October 12, 2021) – Michael Wray Robinson, 49, of Eureka, died Friday, Oct. 8th after a big rig truck struck him while riding a bicycle on Broadway.
The fatal Eureka bicycle accident happened about 9:15 p.m. on Friday night, according to the Eureka Police Department and ABC7 KRCR News.
The collision happened about 9:15 p.m. near Henderson Street.
A driver in a semi-tractor trailer truck was traveling northbound on Broadway when the vehicle struck the victim due to unknown circumstances.
Bicycle Rider Hospitalized
Paramedics responded and performed life-saving measures on Michael Wray Robinson and transported him by ambulance to a hospital. Sadly, despite efforts by doctors and emergency workers, Michael Wray Robinson died at the hospital, police said.
Meanwhile, authorities closed down Broadway to investigate the crash and clear the scene.
Investigators will determine the cause of the crash and liability.
