DUI Hit-and-Run Driver Michelle Rickman, 34, Seriously Injured Motorcyclist in Bakersfield Crash
BAKERSFIELD, CA (April 18, 2021) – Authorities detained Michelle Rickman after a DUI hit-and-run crash in Bakersfield.
Police determined that the 34-year-old woman was under the influence when she critically injured a motorcyclist late Saturday night.
The incident happened on April 17 when Michelle Rickman was driving a silver sedan in Bakersfield. Police said she then struck the motorcycle rider on South Chester Avenue at the Highway 58 eastbound on-ramp.
Firefighters along with the paramedics responded to the scene. They found the victim left lying on the ground and suffering from major injuries as a result of the wreck.

Medical personnel then rushed the patient to a nearby hospital and listed them in critical condition. Officials did not disclose the name of the wounded party.
According to the article published by the Kern Golden Empire, the accident occurred at around 10 p.m. Meanwhile, Michelle Rickman tried to flee on foot following the collision.
Officers soon located her in the 300 block of Brink Street. They arrested and booked Rickman into the Kern County jail for DUI and felony hit-and-run.
