Vehicle Strikes, Kills Homeless Woman Near Central Avenue
Compton, CA (August 10, 2022) – Michelle Yaccuzio, a 40-year-old female, died following a pedestrian accident that occurred on Interstate 91, also known as Gardena Freeway.
My News LA published an article online reporting a person struck by a vehicle early Monday. Our sources indicated an unknown make and model of a car hit a woman in the westbound side of Gardena Freeway near Central Avenue.
Deadly Pedestrian Accident on Gardena (91) Freeway in Compton
Shortly after 12:16 a.m., rescue teams arrived at the location. Responding paramedics rendered aid to the female party found lying on the ground. Despite life-saving measures, the pedestrian sadly succumbed to her injuries and passed away at the scene. The Los Angeles County coroner’s office Tuesday identified the deceased as Michelle Yaccuzio. Officials believed the victim was a homeless person.
Meanwhile, no immediate information was available on the driver involved in the deadly accident. Further investigation on the case is ongoing.
