Heather Sevier, 41, Killed in Crash on Highway 166

December 12, 2018 – A fiery head-on crash occurred early Wednesday on Highway 166 near Cottonwood Canyon Road, according to Noozhawk.
Primary reports indicated the accident happened when an eastbound Ford F-250 pickup veered into the opposite traffic and drove into the path of a westbound semi tractor-trailer loaded with crude oil.
The two vehicles crashed head-on, and the impact forced the pickup to run off the south side of the roadway, where it became engulfed in flames.
Shortly after 2 a.m., emergency personnel arrived at the scene and immediately rendered aid to the motorists involved. As per the article, the woman driving the Ford pickup was sadly pronounced dead at the location.
The deceased has been identified as 41-year-old Heather Sevier, of Bakersfield.
Meanwhile, first responders reportedly found the tanker off the roadway and overturned onto its side. Officials mentioned oil from the tanker-truck leaked out onto the dirt and the roadway during recovery operations.
Miguel Ayala Jr., 31, Possibly Injured in Santa Maria Fiery Crash
Authorities identified the truck operator as 31-year-old Miguel Ayala Jr., of Shafter. It was not immediately discussed if the man sustained serious injuries in the traumatic incident.
Highway 166 between Tepusquet Road and the Cuyama Valley remained closed until about 11:50 a.m. Further investigation on the case is ongoing.
