Man Killed on 5 Freeway in Santa Clarita Identified
SANTA CLARITA, Calif. (Nov. 24, 2021) – Miguel Gonzalez, 56, of Stevenson Ranch, died Tuesday night in a crash on the northbound Golden State (5) Freeway in Santa Clarita.
The deadly collision happened about 6 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 23rd in the northbound lanes of the Golden State Freeway, just south of Calgroe Boulevard, according to the California Highway Patrol.
2-Vehicle Crash on I-5 Freeway
Los Angeles County Fire Department paramedics responded after someone reported the collision to 911. The drivers of an SUV and a semi truck collided due to unknown circumstances, police said.
Firefighters rescued Miguel Gonzalez from the SUV and paramedics took him by ambulance to a hospital. However, despite efforts to save his life he later died from his injuries due to the crash. The Los Angeles County Sheriff Coroner identified Miguel Gonzalez as the victim on its website.
There are no other injuries from the collision.
