Miguel Salas, 22, Killed in Lompoc Crash Near Purisima and Mission Gate Roads
LOMPOC, CA (June 23, 2021) – A motorcycle crash killed Miguel Salas near Purisima and Mission Gate roads in Lompoc.
The coroner’s office identified the 26-year-old Lompoc man as the victim of the fatal wreck which occurred on Tuesday afternoon.
The incident happened on June 22 when Miguel Angel Salas was riding a Kawasaki motorcycle east on Purisima Road in Lompoc. At the same time, a 2017 Volkswagen was going west on Mission Gate Road.
Motorcycle and Car Collide Near La Purisima Mission
The driver of the car, 67-year-old Lawrence Li, turned left onto Purisima Road for an unknown reason. In the process, the Lompoc motorist collided with Miguel Salas.
The California Highway Patrol said the rider ended up ejected from his bike as a result of the collision. Firefighters along with the paramedics arrived and pronounced him dead at the scene.
Santa Maria Times and KSBY News wrote that the accident took place at around 2:45 p.m. Meanwhile, CHP affirmed that Lawrence Li did not sustain any wound following the wreck.
