Vehicle Strikes, Kills Pedestrian on Nimitz Freeway Sunday
Milpitas, CA (December 19, 2021) – A pedestrian died following a traffic accident that occurred on the Interstate 880 Freeway early Sunday morning.
According to the California Highway Patrol dispatch, a big rig struck an individual in the southbound side of I-880, also known as Nimitz Freeway. Earlier reports indicated the truck driver failed to avoid the pedestrian that apparently jumped in front of the big rig.
The CHP logged the incident at about 1:09 a.m. near Tasman Drive in Milpitas.

When medical personnel arrived at the site, they immediately attended to the pedestrian found lying on the ground. Paramedics attempted to save the victim, but they sadly succumbed to their injuries and died. The identity of the fatal victim remained undisclosed pending confirmation and notification of next of kin.
Several factors surrounding the unfortunate event have not been discussed thus far. At this time, investigators continue to work to determine liability in the deadly pedestrian accident on Interstate 880 in Milpitas.
