3-Vehicle Collision on Interstate 80 in Sacramento

SACRAMENTO, Calif., (June 5, 2026) — A traffic collision in Sacramento involving three vehicles resulted in minor injuries Thursday night along the Interstate 80 Freeway East, just east of Truxel Road.

The incident was reported on June 4th at approximately 5:24 p.m. and involved a white 2016 Kia Optima, a silver Dodge sedan, and a blue Toyota sedan. According to the California Highway Patrol (CHP), the collision initially blocked the middle lanes of the roadway, causing a traffic disruption.

Emergency responders, including the Freeway Service Patrol (FSP), were dispatched to the scene. By 5:41 p.m., units were actively attending to the situation, ensuring the safety of all involved and clearing the vehicles from the lanes.

Tow trucks were requested to remove the damaged vehicles, with a silver Dodge Charger being towed to Northgate and Rosin. The other involved vehicles remained on the right-hand side awaiting further assistance.

The CHP is continuing its investigation into the cause of the collision. They urge any witnesses to come forward with information that may assist in the ongoing investigation.
