2 Injured in Mira Mesa Head-On Crash on Valley Center Road
SAN DIEGO (March 16, 2020) – One was killed and two others were injured after a traffic collision along Valley Center Road in North County earlier this month.
According to an article published by San Diego Union-Tribune, the accident occurred on March 3 at about 7 p.m. in the Mira Mesa neighborhood.
The incident began when 85-year-old Hilton James was driving a Ford Ranger on Valley Center Road near the Rincon Reservation.
The county Medical Examiner’s Office said the San Diego man drifted toward the southbound lanes as he approached a curve on the road.

Deputies affirmed that the pickup truck then sideswiped an oncoming Chevrolet Tahoe and struck a Chevrolet Silverado head-on. James reportedly died before he could be taken to a hospital.
Medical personnel transported the driver of the Silverado, a 59-year-old Vista man, and his passenger, a 89-year-old Vista woman, who complained of pain following the crash.
The 38-year-old Escondido woman operating the Tahoe was unharmed in the wreck. The names of the deceased and wounded parties have not been yet released.
Meanwhile, the tragic incident remains under investigation.
