Woman Critical After Collision at Camino Ruiz at Westmore Road
Mira Mesa, CA (April 27, 2023) – A woman, believed to be in her 60s, suffered serious injuries following a pedestrian accident that occurred in the area of Camino Ruiz at Westmore Road.
According to NBC News, the female party was walking in a crosswalk Wednesday morning, April 26. While in the middle of the roadway, a passing 2015 Toyota Tacoma struck the woman. The collision took place at approximately 7 a.m.
Major Pedestrian Accident in Mira Mesa
The article published online confirmed the pedestrian sustained extensive trauma from the crash. Responding paramedics rushed the victim to a hospital for treatment of severe injuries including a serious brain trauma, and fractures to her skull, ribs, and pelvis. Pending confirmation, the name and exact age of the patient remained undisclosed. A San Diego Police Department officer said they do not expect the victim to survive.
Meanwhile, no immediate information was available on the driver involved in the incident.
Investigators assigned to handle the case continue to work to determine the precise cause of the crash that happened at Camino Ruiz at Westmore Road in Mira Mesa.
