Carlsbad Fatal Car Crash on 5 Freeway; Mireyya Hernandez Killed
According to the San Diego Coroner, Mireyya Hernandez, 22, of Descanso, has been identified as the victim fatally injured in a car accident Sunday morning.
The incident occurred on the northbound Interstate 5 freeway where it connects to eastbound Highway 78 at precisely 1:31 a.m. when the driver of a pickup truck lost control trying to negotiate a curve and overturned the vehicle ending up in an embankment.
Mireyya Hernandez, who was sitting in the right side rear passenger’s seat, suffered fatal injuries and was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver and at least one other passenger who remain unidentified were both injured and taken to hospitals.
California Highway Patrol-Oceanside division authorities are handling the investigation at this time. There has been no indication that drugs or alcohol were involved and a contributing factor.
