2 Injured in Crash on Interstate 5 Freeway in Lost Hills
LOST HILLS, Calif. (Oct. 13, 2021) — Misael Villanueva and Rico Burlingame, 25, were injured Wednesday morning in a multi-vehicle truck accident on the southbound Interstate 5 Freeway at Xenia Avenue.
The Lost Hills crash happened about 4:54 a.m. on Oct. 13th, according to the California Highway Patrol.
A black semi-truck, a car and a second semi-truck collided due to unknown circumstances.
The CHP reported one of the trucks overturned onto its side during the collision.
Meanwhile, paramedics with the Kern County Fire Department responded to help the injured. Misael Villanueva and Rico Burlingame, 25, both suffered major and moderate injuries respectively.
Paramedics called for a helicopter to airlift Villanueva to Kern Medical Center and an ambulance to take Burlingame to Hanford Hospital.
The roadway remained blocked by vehicles until about 7:56 a.m.
Investigators seek to determine liability for the Lost Hills truck accident.
