Motorcyclist Injured in Hit-and-run Crash on I-5 Freeway
MISSION HILLS, Calif. (March 9, 2022) — A Mission Hills motorcycle accident involving a hit-and-run driver happened Wednesday morning on the Interstate 5 Freeway, just north of San Fernando Mission Boulevard.
The California Highway Patrol reports a truck struck the motorcyclist in the southbound I-5 Freeway about 8:57 a.m. on March 9th. The motorcycle rider was ejected from the bike and thrown over the center divider into northbound HOV lane. Several motorists stopped to help the motorcycle rider and some jumped over the center divider.
The Los Angeles Fire Department responded to help the injured rider, but there are no further details. Meanwhile, several traffic lanes on both sides of the Interstate 5 Freeway became blocked by the emergency response.
Investigators are working to determine the cause of the collision and liability. Also, they are looking for the truck driver who fled.
Meanwhile, police closed down several lanes of the Interstate 5 freeway to investigate the Mission Hills motorcycle accident.
