5 Injured in Mission Valley Crash on Interstate 8 Near Taylor Street
SAN DIEGO, CA (May 6, 2023) – Several were injured after a crash on the Interstate 8 near Taylor Street in Mission Valley.
According to the FOX 5 News and NBC San Diego, the accident took place on Friday morning. Officers reported the wreck on May 5 at about 5 a.m.
The California Highway Patrol said at least 14 vehicles crashed in nine separate incidents in the Mission Valley neighborhood of San Diego.
Multiple Vehicles Collide
For an unknown reason, two cars initially collided on the westbound Interstate 8 near the Taylor Street and Hotel Circle freeway exit. The other vehicles became involved in the process.
Firefighters along with the paramedics soon arrived at the scene. A video by 911 News indicated that a total of five people ended up hurt as a result of the collision.
Medical personnel then rushed the patients to the hospital for treatment of unspecified injuries. The report did not release the names of the wounded parties and their condition at this time.
Meanwhile, CHP forced the westbound lanes of the Interstate 8 to shut down for an hour near Taylor following the wreck. The cause of the Mission Valley crash is still under investigation.
