Child Injured in Possible Hit-and-Run Collision on San Diego Freeway Tuesday
Mission Viejo, CA (June 23, 2021) – A traffic accident involving a big rig occurred on Interstate 5, also known as San Diego Freeway, Tuesday afternoon.
Auto vs. Truck Accident in Mission Viejo, June 22
According to the California Highway Patrol dispatch, a red sedan collided with the truck on the northbound lanes of the freeway. The crash happened near the Avery Parkway in Mission Viejo.
Emergency crews arrived at the scene shortly after 1:55 p.m. Per CHP log, a small child was found at the crash site. Paramedics attended to the juvenile, and later confirmed they sustained injuries to their leg. Additional details on the child remained undisclosed.
Authorities later mentioned a motorist involved in the incident drove away following the collision. Detectives continue to gather information on the hit-and-run suspect. Further investigation on the traffic accident in Mission Viejo is underway.
