Kia Optima Crashes Under Semi-Truck on I-5 Freeway

ORANGE COUNTY, Calif. (Feb. 14, 2025) — A driver was injured early Friday in a crash between a semi-truck and sedan on the Interstate 5 Freeway, just north of Oso Parkway in Mission Viejo.

The two-vehicle collision occurred in the southbound lanes of the 5 Freeway around 4:51 a.m. on Feb. 14th, according to the California Highway Patrol.

CHP officials reported a Kia Optima became stuck underneath the semi-truck in the middle lanes of the I-5 Freeway.

Paramedics responded to help the injured motorist, but there are no further details at this time.

Investigators will determine fault for the Mission Viejo crash on the 5 Freeway.
