CAPISTRANO, Calif., (July 23, 2026) — A crash on the southbound Interstate 5 Freeway near the Oso Parkway off-ramp happened early Thursday morning in Mission Viejo, resulting in a fatality.
The collision occurred on July 23rd at approximately 12:08 a.m. when a white or silver sedan reportedly collided with an unknown vehicle, leading to the involved vehicle catching fire. Emergency responders, including the California Highway Patrol and local fire departments, were dispatched to the scene following reports of a traffic collision and a vehicle ablaze with an individual trapped inside.
