Misti Clark, 39, Killed in Tulare County Crash on Avenue 56 Near Porterville
TULARE COUNTY, CA (May 19, 2023) – Misti Clark was killed after a crash on Avenue 56 near Porterville in Tulare County.
The FOX 26 News identified the 39-year-old Corcoran California Correctional Officer as the victim in the fatal wreck which took place on Thursday.
The incident happened when Misti Clark was driving a Honda west on Avenue 56 near Porterville in Tulare County. At the same time a big rig and a 2022 Chevrolet were going east.
The driver of the Chevrolet, Antonio Barietagonzalez, tried to pass the semi-truck and traveled in the westbound lane. In the process, the car slammed into the Honda.
1 Injured in Wreck
The vehicles crashed west of Road 168. The California Highway Patrol said the impact of the collision pushed the Chevrolet into the left side of the big rig.
The Chevrolet landed on its wheels in a pistachio orchard and then caught fire. The accident occurred on May 18 at around 5 a.m.
Misti Clark died at the scene of the crash. Paramedics evaluated and provided treatment to Antonio Barietagonzalez for te unknown injuries he sustained in the collision.
Meanwhile, officers forced a stretch of Avenue 56 to shut down for hours following the wreck. The cause of the Tulare County crash is still under investigation.
