MODESTO: Bicyclist Rachelle White Killed in Hit-and-Run on El Vista Avenue

modesto hit and run el vista avenueMODESTO (July 1, 2016)- According to The Modesto Bee, a 40-year-old bicyclist identified as Rachelle White was the victim of a fatal hit-and-run Thursday evening on El Vista Avenue near Encina Avenue.

At 8:50 p.m., the driver of a silver sedan possibly a Dodge Magnum struck White who was riding a bicycle at the time.

She was rushed to a trauma center where she sadly did not survive her injuries. She was a resident of Modesto.

Per The Modesto Bee, the driver immediately took off failing to render aid. The suspect, 34-year-old Modesto resident Evgeniy Viktorochich Gubanov, was arrested and is facing charges including vehicular manslaughter, leaving the crash scene, unlawful taking of a vehicle, possession of methamphetamine and reckless evasion of a peace officer.

Meanwhile, FOX 40 News said the vehicle involved sustained damage to its windshield, hood, and passenger side door.
