3 Injured in Modesto Crash at McHenry and Claratina
MODESTO, CA (May 13, 2023) – Several were injured after a crash at McHenry and Claratina avenues in Modesto.
According to an article published by The Modesto Bee, the accident took place late Friday morning. Officers reported the wreck on May 12 at about 11 a.m.
The incident happened when a 1949 Dodge Coupe was going north on McHenry Avenue, approaching Claratina Avenue, in Modesto. At the same time, a Honda Civic was traveling south.
Police said the Honda then made an eastbound turn onto Claratina. In the process, the Civic slammed into the Dodge in the intersection.
2 Cars Collide
A third vehicle turning east onto Claratina became involved in the process. Firefighters along with the paramedics soon arrived at the scene and found three people hurt.
The driver of the Coupe, a 51-year-old man, sustained major injuries as a result of the collision. Medical personnel rushed him to a hospital and listed him in serious condition.
The woman driving the Honda and her 6-year-old child survived with minor injuries. An air ambulance flew the juvenile to a children’s hospital as a precaution.
The report did not disclose the names of the wounded parties. Meanwhile, police forced the area of McHenry and Claratina avenues to shut down following the wreck.
The cause of the Modesto crash is still under investigation.
