Man Fatally Struck by Vehicle at Orangeburg and Nelson Avenue
Modesto, CA (December 5, 2022) – A 64-year-old pedestrian died following a traffic accident that occurred in the area of Orangeburg and Nelson Avenue, the Modesto Bee News reported.
Officials said the elderly man was walking in the streets of Modesto Friday evening. When the male pedestrian approached the intersection of Orangeburg and Nelson, a vehicle heading west at the crossing struck the man. According to the article published online, the horrible crash took place between McHenry and Sunset Avenue.
Pedestrian Dies After Accident in Modesto
Shortly after 7:15 p.m., emergency crews arrived at the scene. Responding paramedics immediately rendered aid to the victim found lying on the ground. Despite life-saving efforts performed by medical personnel, the man sadly succumbed to his injuries and passed away. Authorities only identified the deceased as a 64-year-old Modesto resident.
Police shut down the area of Orangeburg and Nelson Avenue for approximately three hours to give way to the investigation process. Detectives handling the case continue to investigate liability in the deadly pedestrian accident that happened in Modesto.
