Homeless Woman Killed in Hit-and-Run Crash
Modesto, CA (November 16, 2022) – A deadly pedestrian accident occurred Wednesday morning on Yosemite Avenue, the ABC10 News reported.
Officers said they received reports of a woman found lying in the 1400 block of Yosemite Avenue in Central Modesto. When authorities arrived at the location, they found a female party unconscious. Responding paramedics performed life-saving measures to the victim but they sadly succumbed to their injuries and passed away.
Preliminary investigation revealed the woman was possibly sleeping next to a large, vacant lot; and adjacent to the Modesto Rescue Mission. While lying on the sidewalk, a semi truck apparently run over the victim. The incident instantly killed the homeless person.
According to the article published online, a friend of the fatal victim briefly identified them as Deborah.
Meanwhile, investigators continue to gather information to determine several unclear factors surrounding the unfortunate event. The Modesto Bee News reported police are handling the case as a hit-and-run.
Further investigation is ongoing on the deadly accident that happened on Yosemite Avenue in Modesto.
