At Least 1 Killed in Collision at Mcgee Avenue and Rice Road Saturday
Modesto, CA (September 19, 2021) – A fatal car accident occurred in the area of Mcgee Avenue and Rice Road on September 18, Saturday.
According to the California Highway Patrol dispatch, a vehicle veered off the roadway and plunged down a canal at the Modesto intersection. The description of the car involved in the collision remained unknown at this time.
Primary reports indicated the occupants of the vehicle that crashed down the water canal managed to exit the car. Three people reportedly climbed on top of the vehicle and called for help.

Shortly after 10:51 p.m., emergency crews arrived at the crash site. Paramedics immediately rendered aid to all the victims in the collision. After the evaluation, authorities sadly pronounced one person dead. Police continue to withhold the identity of the deceased pending confirmation and notification of next of kin.
Several factors surrounding the fatal car accident in Modesto remained unclear. Given that, detectives stayed at the scene the whole evening to investigate the precise cause of the catastrophic incident.
