1 Killed in Modesto Car Crash on Highway 108 Near Highway 219
MODESTO, CA (September 7, 2021) – At least one was killed after a car crash on Highway 108 near Highway 219 in Modesto.
The California Highway Patrol dispatch team said the tragic accident occurred on Tuesday night. Officers reported the wreck at about 9:10 p.m.
According to CHP’s incident log, two vehicles collided for an unknown reason on Highway 108 in Modesto. One of them slammed into a pole near Highway 219.
2 Vehicles Collide
Firefighters along with the paramedics soon arrived at the scene. They then extricated one trapped occupant from the wreckage.
Medical personnel confirmed that one person died as a result of the collision. The name of the deceased victim remains unreleased pending notification of next of kin.
Meanwhile, CHP did not mention if any other party sustained injuries after the wreck. Officers forced a stretch of Highway 108 to shut down for hours following the collision.
The cause of the fatal Modesto car crash is still under investigation.
