Boy, 1, Killed in Modesto Pedestrian Hit-and-Run Glenn Avenue Near Ustick Road
MODESTO, CA (May 21, 2021) – A child pedestrian was killed after a hit-and-run crash on Glenn Avenue in Modesto.
According to The Modesto Bee and CBS Sacramento, the tragic accident occurred on Friday afternoon. Officers reported the collision at about 5:06 p.m.
The incident happened when an 18 month old boy walked from the north shoulder onto Glenn Avenue in Modesto. At the same time, a vehicle was going west on Glenn.
The California Highway Patrol said the driver then struck the toddler. Firefighters along with the paramedics responded to the scene, east of Ustick Road.

Medical personnel found the young victim left lying on the ground as a result of the collision. They rushed him to the Doctors Medical Center, where he died.
Meanwhile, CHP affirmed that the male motorist did not stop to render aid to the boy and fled westbound. Officials described the car involved as a 2021 Toyota sedan.
Witnesses followed the suspect who later returned to the crash site. Authorities soon arrested him on felony hit-and-run charges.
The fatal Modesto hit-and-run crash is still under investigation.
