MODESTO (March 14, 2017)- According to the Modesto Bee, a deadly hit-and-run crash left a boy dead and three others seriously injured Monday evening.
The collision took place at roughly 11:00 p.m. at Hatch and Carpenter roads between a Dodge and a Toyota.
Per the Modesto Bee, the driver of the Dodge, a 31-year-old man identified as Traves Krause had been headed northbound on Carpenter Road before colliding with Mayra Rangel who had been headed eastbound on Hatch as the two vehicles met at the intersection. Authorities disclosed that the Dodge struck the left of the Toyota.
A total of four occupants were inside the Toyota including an 11-year-old boy who tragically did not survive the crash and was pronounced at the scene. The boy has not been identified at this time.
Meanwhile, the woman driving the Toyota and two other passengers identified as Jose Ramirez, 30, and Maria Rangel, 9, were all badly hurt and rushed to trauma centers for their injuries.
Per the article, the Krause fled the scene but was later found at a residence and determined to have been under the influence. He was arrested and faces serious charges.
