Pedestrian Killed in Car Accident at Highway 99 On-ramp from Keyes Road
MODESTO, Calif. (September 24, 2019) – An unidentified pedestrian was struck and killed Monday night in a collision at the East Keyes Road on ramp to the northbound Highway 99.
The fatal pedestrian accident took place at around 9:15 p.m. on September 23rd in Modesto, according to a report by the California Highway Patrol.
The pedestrian was struck by a 2009 Nissan sedan driven by Matthew Higle, 34, of Ceres. The driver was attempting to enter the highway when their car struck the pedestrian in the roadway.
Paramedics responded to the scene where they located the male pedestrian on the on-ramp where he was pronounced dead at the scene.
There were no other injuries reported. The CHP is heading up the investigation into liability.
