Pedestrian Killed in Modesto Crash on I Street Near 7th and 8th Streets
MODESTO, CA (October 12, 2021) – A pedestrian was killed after a crash on I Street near 7th and 8th streets in Modesto.
According to an article published by The Modesto Bee, the tragic accident took place on Tuesday morning. Officers reported the collision at about 5:44 a.m.
Modesto police determined that an SUV going west on I Street struck a male pedestrian. The car hit him on I Street between 7th and 8th streets.

The man ended up trapped underneath the vehicle as a result of the collision. Firefighters along with the paramedics arrived at the scene and then freed him.
Medical personnel soon rushed the victim to a hospital, where he died. The name of the deceased party remains unreleased pending notification of next of kin.
Meanwhile, police affirmed that the driver of the SUV stopped and stayed at the site after hitting the man. They believed that the conditions in the area at the time were dark.
Officers forced a stretch of I Street to shut down following the collision. The fatal Modesto pedestrian crash is still under investigation.
