STANISLAUS COUNTY, CA (July 14, 2025) — A fatal crash involving a semi-truck and a white sedan occurred late Monday morning in Modesto at South Carpenter Road and West Monte Vista Avenue, just west of Turlock, according to the California Highway Patrol.
Authorities were dispatched around 10:14 a.m. in Stanislaus County after reports of a collision between an 80,000-pound semi-truck with a 48-foot trailer and a sedan. Emergency crews from Stanislaus County Fire and AMR responded to the scene, but at least one person was pronounced dead.
The impact of the crash caused significant front-end damage to the semi-truck and forced a full closure of the roadway. Officials also requested assistance from the Turlock Irrigation District to inspect a nearby irrigation box that may have been struck during the incident.
The identity of the deceased has not yet been released pending notification of next of kin. A chaplain was called to the scene, and CHP is continuing its investigation into the cause of the crash.
Towing services were required for both vehicles due to the extent of the damage. County road crews were called to manage traffic control and assist with cleanup.
Drivers were advised to avoid the area for several hours while the scene was cleared and investigators collected evidence.
