2 Hurt After Car Accident at 6th and I Street Wednesday
Modesto, CA (May 5, 2021) – Two people, including a Modesto Fire Department battalion chief, suffered injuries following a car crash in the area of 6th and I Street.
According to the Modesto Bee, a marked Fire Department vehicle collided with a Nissan sedan in downtown Modesto. The crash took place Wednesday shortly after 5:30 p.m.

Earlier reports indicated the accident resulted in injuries to two parties. Officials said responding emergency crews attended to the Modesto Fire Department battalion chief and to an occupant in the Nissan. Due to the extent of their injuries, paramedics transported the two patients to the hospital for treatment.
The names of the injured parties, and their conditions at this time remained undisclosed.
At this time, investigators handling the case continue to work to determine the precise circumstances that led to the car crash in Modesto.
